Doris Dreyer

Founder

Doris Dreyer is the founder of Denzena Law, a legal consulting firm dedicated to supporting First Nations governments and organizations through culturally respectful, solution-oriented counsel. With a background in law and governance, Doris brings close to three decades of experience navigating complex legal frameworks, intergovernmental relations, and Indigenous land planning, land development and policy projects.

Her work is grounded in a deep sensitivity to the cultural protocols and workload realities of First Nation administrations. Known for her collaborative spirit and strategic thinking, Doris has built enduring relationships across communities by listening first, responding with care, and always seeking innovative paths forward.

Doris thrives in dynamic environments where creativity, client service, and trust are paramount. She is committed to delivering high-impact results—whether working remotely or on-site—and believes that “not possible” is rarely the end of the conversation.

Doris is a member of the Law Society of Alberta.

Kassua Dreyer

Student

Kassua Dreyer is a university student with proud Yukon First Nation and German heritage. A member of the Wolf clan and daughter of Testloa Smith, hereditary Crown clan chief of the Pelly Lakes First Nation, she brings a strong intergenerational perspective to Denzena Law.

Currently studying International Indigenous Studies at the University of Calgary, Kassua is passionate about cultural revitalization, governance, and language preservation. She completed the first level of Kaska—her father’s ancestral language—through Simon Fraser University in Grade 12, and continues to engage in youth camps and handgames tournaments to stay connected to tradition.

As a high-performance swimmer and certified National Lifeguard, Kassua exemplifies discipline and teamwork. Her role at Denzena Law focuses on youth engagement, cultural advising, and supporting community-driven legal practices. Kassua is committed to learning, listening, and leading with integrity—representing a new generation of Indigenous professionals grounded in tradition and driven by purpose.
